An antimicrobial supplement recommended for the selective isolation and identification of Listeria monocytogenes.
Listeria Selective Supplement is used with Listeria Identification Agar Base (PALCAM) for selective isolation of Listeria monocytogenes. Van Netten et al., formulated Listeria Identification Agar Base, which is also called Polymixin Acriflavin lithium chloride Ceftazidime Esculin Mannitol (PALCAM) and is used for the isolation of Listeria monocytogens from foods. PALCAM is a highly selective medium due to the presence of Lithium chloride, and selective supplement containing Ceftazidime, Polymyxin B and Acriflavin hydrochloride.
