Acid Fast Decolorizer

3% Concentrated HCl in 95% Ethanol for decolorization of Acid-Fast smears.

In clinical microbiology, for the screening of Acid-Fast Bacilli such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae strong acid is used for decolorization of the smears.
