Anaerobic Gas Pack is used for the cultivation of anaerobic microorganisms.

Obligate anaerobes are organism that can survive only in the absence of oxygen. As these organisms lack the enzymes superoxide dismutase and catalase, that destroy the lethal superoxide radicals formed in the presence of oxygen.
